Gay Weddings on Mt. Everest?
Looks like Nepal is hip to something that has eluded California, New York, Massachusetts and just about every other state in this country: besides being a fundamental issue of rights, gay marriage is also a potential tourism goldmine for countries and states that are more “open”. Nepal now plans to offer same-sex couples the romantic possibility of getting married on Mt. Everest and participating in a Himalayan-honeymoon trek or tour as a way to boost its tourism industry, one of the main drivers of the country’s economy. Good for them!
