Dhoonya Dance flashmob on July 30 in Bowling Green Park

Before coming out to Desilicious White Party at Pachita on July 30, make sure to check out Dhoonya Dance, the Bollywood dance school that has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CBS, Dr. Oz, and the USA Network series Royal Pains. The team will be organizing an outdoor Bollywood flash mob at 6:30 pm in Bowling Green Park (Broadway and Whitehall St) across the street from Battery Park.

The timing coincides with this year’s National Dance Day, which Congress officially recognized last year as an effort to celebrate dance across the nation. Dhoonya Dance choreographed the first-ever Bollywood flashmob in Washington, D.C. in May 2010, which drew more than 350 participants.

The Dhoonya Dance flashmob will feature two songs: the item number “Sheila Ki Jawani” from Tees Maar Khan, followed by the disco-inspired track “I Hate You [Like I Love You]” from the latest Bollywood movie everyone is talking about, Delhi Belly.

Flashmob participants are asked to arrive at 6 pm. Participants can wear any bright color or their Dhoonya Dance t-shirt.
