Is Bollywood Ready for Rohit Bal’s “High Style” Gay Flick?
Fed up with stereotypical portrayals of gays in Bollywood, Indian designer Rohit Bal tells The Times of India of his plans to direct a Hindi film “which will be something like Brokeback Mountain.” He also hopes to bring his design sensibilities to the filmmaking arena. “People will actually get the feeling that this is so high on the style quotient. The whole purpose of films is that they are an incredible expression of creativity.” Could this be the cinematic love child between “A Single Man” and “Sholay’? We can only wait and wonder!
