Rally Against Hate in Queens on Oct. 17th
I just received an email in my inbox from Danny Dromm of the Queens City Council and his help needed in rallying folks to attend the March and Rally Against Hate Crime in College Point, Queens. Many of you may have heard about the vicious beating of Jack Price, an openly gay long-time Queens resident in front of a convenience store last Friday. The entire incident was caught on videotape and the suspects have been captured and city officials are calling it a hate crime.
The rally will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 2pm on College Point Boulevard and is endorsed by an wide variety of groups and organizations, including the office of Speaker Christine Quinn, the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights and the New York Civil Liberties Union. More info is available here.
