Tiny Drops Hip Hop Center for Youth in India
Sholay Events would like to help promote Tiny Drops India, a hip hop community center for youth living in the slums of Mumbai and Delhi, with a purpose of providing an alternative creative and social outlet and a space for mentorship and guidance. The founder of the organization grew up in Queens and was deported to india after 9/11 and spent years in Dharavi, the largest slum in Bombay, working with kids who wanted to learn how to break dance, and was then inspired to create Tiny Drops as a community center and resource. Tiny Drops will offer workshops in breakdancing, old school hip hop dance, film making and editing, and music DJing & producing, facilitated by high-level professionals in these fields.
Tiny Drops is a small-scale, grassroots, community-based project and need $5k to open the center and run it for three months with a bboy/bgirl program, or $20k to run the entire series of multi-media workshops for three months. If you would like to help, you can donate through paypal at tinydrops.org or email with any questions to tinydropsindia@gmail.com.
