Don’t miss the NY premiere of Sonali Gulati’s “I Am”, which has been touring festivals and cinema halls around the world. Sonali’s film I chronicles the journey of an Indian lesbian filmmaker who returns to Delhi after 11 years to confront the loss of her mother, whom she never came out to. Though the course of the film, she meets and speaks to parents of other gay and lesbian Indians and “pieces together the fabric of what family truly means, in a landscape where being gay was until recently a criminal and punishable offense.” It will be playing at the Anthology Film Archives in New York City on Wednesday June 15th, as part of New Filmmakers New York. She will also be available for a post-screening Q&A. Click here for info on the screening.
