Thumka-licious Tracks For Your Last Night of 2011

There are so many fizool recaps of 2011. Political, economic, blah blah blah. Let’s talk about what really counts! What were the most thumka-licious tracks or 2011? Here’s a list that should most definitely be on your ipod this NYE! If your party is fail, we will let you and your friends in for free to the next Desilicious party on Jan 21. But seriously, would we ever musically let you down? Check out our list of the hip shaking tracks and see for yourself!

Until 2012 xoxo!

“Mutton Song”
Did you miss last week’s post? Well, then, you suck! Make sure you keep it locked here every Thumka Thursday for the honest truth about Bollywood’s item songs. Some people mistake our honesty for bitchiness. To those prude readers: you know you love us ;) . Here’s another serving of mutton. I still feel like this was a waste of a six-pack. Leave your thoughts on our Facebook Page!

“Dhinka Chika”
I’m really impressed with Salman Khan’s ability to fake thumak, aren’t you? The pocket move is brilliant for how stiff he’s become from all of the years of lifting and roid rage. If you feel like you’re someone who doesn’t have any rhythm, take a page (only this one) from Salman Khan’s book — find a tiny move that will go a long way. Or just shake it out. Anyone who is judging isn’t really worth your time. (They usually go home alone)

“Dum Maro Dum”
After Zeenat Aman’s iconic number, the hope was that Deepika Padukone could make another cult hit. Ummm…sorry Deeps, no such luck. But it’s not her fault. She’s a fantastic dancer and could have made any of Katina or Malika’s numbers 10x hotter. She was just given terrible choreography and unflattering lighting. In my head though, she did a great job!

“Tinku Jiya”
Have you done this move at Sholay too? Well, you should. It’s easy, it’s hot — and if you have the pecs to pull it off, I hope we meet soon!

“Peepni”
Not a lot of people have heard this yet. It’s one of those under the radar/only crazy Bollywood fans know about it tracks. Regardless, it’s good. Every time they say “speaker hill,” my speakers be moooovin’! Do yours?

“Jalebi Bai”
If I ever see someone hula hooping to a Bollywood track again, you can assume that their thumka-ing days will be numbered. I am talking full our Durga sitting on a lion, eating some dude’s guts. Consider yourself warned. With so much Kolaveri, why does this track make our list? Because — who doesn’t want to be told that their hipp-ing is SO fly that they look like a jalebi?

“Shalu Ke Thumke”
This should be the Thumka Thursday theme song. “Munni bhi maane aur Sheila bhi maane SHOLAY ki THUMKE pe dhuniya deewane!” Perhaps DJ Ashu can work something out for the next Desilicious party on January 21st?

“Chammak Challo”
I mean, I’d like to be Akon’s Chammak Challo, but that’s just my style. Does anything else really need to be said?

“Do Dhaari Talwaar”
Sadly, none of the people in this song, aside from Katrina Kaif (kinda) can dance. But it doesn’t change the fact that this is quite possibly my favorite song of 2011! The stacato bol and interesting lyrics always make me want get up and dance. The folks riding the L train can attest to this fact. If you’ve only heard the song once, give it a second chance. It won’t disappoint!

“Chikini Chameli”
Rest assured that we will go into the fabulously hideousness that is “Chikini Chameli” as our first Thumka Thursday post of 2012? Why? Because it had so much hype, but then failed to deliver. #KJOFAIL! Though the song itself isn’t terrible, it’s full of thumka coming from the strangest parts of Kat’s body. Let the Sholay crowd re-do the song…in drag…#justsayin.

“Ooh La La”
If there is a track that makes my heart go dhak dhak when thinking about 2011, it has to be “Ooh La La” from Dirty Picture. It’s spectacularly vulgar! I don’t know if I want Naseeruddin Shah pinching me or anything, but I know that I could give Vids a run for her bosom heaving money.
